  • UPB tells us 2+2=5 and then says 5=4 making it invalid

I finally got around to reading this book trying to understand what the fuss is all about and I have to confess my ADD just wouldn't allow me to get through all of it. I mean I appreciate the attempt that has been made and I'm sure there's valuble thinking in there somewhere but it is also...

  • Cognitive dissonance is an opportunity to learn knocking..

open the door i've really enjoyed this journey into philosophy, each time i've realized that a preconcieved idea or belief didn't fit with what i was hearing i did more research on BOTH sides, until i found which was more firmly based in REALITY and every time i discovered it i felt like...

  • philosophical teaching video. would like feedback!!

For awhile now I've wanted to make videos discussing my experience as an ESL teacher in Japan and I finally made my first video yesterday! I'd really like to know what all the fellow FDR listeners think of the video and the idea, as well as any suggestions or requests on what they might like...

  • The Case for a Voluntary Society (Video URL: http://youtu.be/VnCB1Xdnlj8)

The establishment of a few axiomatic truths is required to make rational inferences from observed activity. Examples of these include: no object can be in two places at the same time, one and one make two, and of course “A” is “A”. It would seem, however, that an additional claim...

  • Thoughts about Rawls?

Dear Stefan, I really like your show and philosophy! I would appreciate if you spend a few minutes discussing Rawls in your next show or coming shows. I like your philosophy regarding the none-aggression priniciple but I almost find Rawls philosophy of Veil of Ignorance more juste for the human race...

  • Powerlifting

This nothing compared to the weight philosophy can lift. The entire weight of humanity can be lifted by one idea and in a single movement, the dead weight of slavery is lifted, the dead weight of inequality against women and other races is lifted. In one movement the dead weight of violent aggression...

  • Worthwhile philosophers?

I consider the FDR community to be hip with da philosophy and that the philosophies this community follows is the "correct" philosophy (ie. anarchy, personal freedom, free market, all that good stuff). There's so much philosophy out there and I don't want to waste my time with obsolete...

  • Shame, Vulnerability, Human Connection - Brene Brown from TEDxHouston

Hey all, Today I started exploring the TEDTalks podcast. I stumbled upon Brene Brown's talk on the power of vulnerability. More than once it stopped me in my tracks (metaphorically, because I was sitting down, haha) and brought me to tears. I wanted to share it with you all, and see what others'...
