GoDaddy firmly supports SOPA, why not move?

Wikipedia is moving, imgur is moving

    Freedomainradio should too!

If this is something that is practical for the site owner to do, I'd like to see it done. Depending on the options, why voluntarily associate with someone that wants to detroy the greatest invention in our lifetime and the greatest spreader of the knowledge of liberty since the printing press?

Definitely not practical, but I can understand what you're saying.

[Edit] - I don't know the details of whether there's a contract to be concerned about or what, but the technical effort to move the site is considerable.

Moving the domain should be as easy as a couple of clicks.

Getting the website to another hoster is another story though...

Ah yeah, the site is pretty much fully on GoDaddy, from domain registration to site hosting, and moving the latter is considerably more complex than the former.

    It looks like they've reversed:

I'm moving all of my domains as soon as possible. The elephant thing was bad enough, but this is the last straw.

Feedback from customers was a huge reason GoDaddy switched its position, said Adelman, formerly president and COO at the registrar. "As a company, one of our core values is listening and taking care of our customers," he said.

This is precisely why we don't even need regulations, let alone SOPA.

They've merely backpedaled after receiving a serious financial threat. The boycots are still going on.

I hope that they do. Initially my thought was that this was great, and the market influences pushed GoDaddy in the right direction, but take a look at what the CEO of GoDaddy, Warren Adelman, said regarding the bill. ""It's clear to us the bill's not ready in its current form ... " That raises the question: What form of this bill would be considered "ready?" Outside of coming out in strong opisition to this bill, I don't see how GoDaddy has done anything to keep business of the consumer.

This is consistent with what I wrote about SOPA about a week ago...

I'd certainly like to see the site moved and would be willing to contribute to any costs of doing so.
