    The Gaming and Liberty Podcast

    Hi everyone!

I've been working on a podcast for a couple months now and I'm happy to announce that the site is up and running! You can find it here:

    http://www.gamingandliberty.com/

The idea is to explore how games can help people to attain personal liberty. I have two episodes with a third coming in shortly. I hope to publish once a week but I'm not sure how possible that is and it might end up being once every two weeks. My target audience is libertarian gamers and I'm hoping that their close cousins (gamers who aren't libertarians, and libertarians who don't play games) will find interest as well.

I'd appreciate any and all feedback.

    Thanks alot.

    Enjoy!

Interesting - I'll check it out!

I just heard a guy on Free Talk Live recently talk about how he came to the ideas of liberty through gaming - the basic idea that when you have a fixed set of rules that govern the game, experienced gamers will ALWAYS find and exploit the loopholes to maximum effect.

Another gamer here and wannabe amateur game designer.

I subscribed and listened to both episodes. Good job man! Though I generally enjoy podcasts more if there are two or more people going back and forth, you managed to make it interesting on your own. The content so far was great, and it was not too short and not too long, considering the topics that were presented. I like the scholarly approach, it's certainly a refreshing contrast to the other gaming podcasts I listen to.

I'm working on my own liberty-themed game, so I'm really looking forward to hearing your ideas on the subject.

With my thick east-european accent? Your ears would fall off. Smile Besides, I don't think I could contribute anything really interesting.

Thanks Michael. Do you remember roughly what day that guy called in on? I'll be listening to recent episodes to look but if you can narrow the search grid down I'd really appreciate it.

Thank you so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it! As far as guest appearances go, I don't even have the infrastructure necessary for that to happen yet. I'd love to exchange ideas someday tho. With fingolfin too.

I find it funny tho, when you google "gaming and liberty" this thread is ranked higher than my site. *lol*

I just listened to the first four episodes and I thought they were great! Suddenly I'm interested in gaming again. Busted out Morrowind and Oblivion last night. :) Keep up the good work.

What a great idea! As an aspiring video game developer who wishes to spread philosophy through the medium, there couldn't be a better podcast for me.

Thanks guys I truly appreciate the feedback. I released episode 5 last night and your comments were uplifting during the process. Thanks again.

This is the most touching thing you could have said and I just wanted to point that out. I feel gratified knowing I'm having some kind of impact on people's lives. Can't wait to see what this will look like a year from now. Big Smile
