    Dance Monkeys Dance

"To want leaders and at the same time want to be free is to want the impossible. It's necessary to choose one or the other: to be free, entirely free, denying all authority, or to be slaves perpetuating the domination of many by one man." ~ Ricardo Flores Magon

great vid, I got a laugh and it made me think.

It really railed on one of my pet peeves though....he meant apes, not monkeys, monkeys are those little furry guys with tails. Minor point, but it kinda drove me nuts, so I figured I say something.

"Monkey" in reference to humans is more an idiom than anything else.
I take it, as an English speaker, you say "goodbye" to people.
This literally means "God be with you."
You probably don't literally mean that.
If my assumption is correct, then you participate in idioms as well.

But I guess we're just monkeys arguing about which sounds are correct now.

I hate it when people compare me to a primate.

    Now that's funny!

That would be like a chicken saying: "I hate it when chickens compare me to a bird."

Or a crocodile saying: "I hate it when crocs compare me to a reptile."

Or a Christian saying: "I hate it when Christians compare me to a fool."  Oh, wait....  Wink

I remember seeing this in a slide show\video format awhile ago.  It's good stuff, well-written and all; but I get a nihilistic, nothing matters kinda vibe from it.  It's interesting to see these macro views of human behavior as being ridiculous and all, (like the beginning of the movie "The Gods Must Be Crazy" for another example) but there's an undercurrent of pessimism that makes the laughs bittersweet.
