Hi Ryan,
Well I've driven across most of Canada when I was 25, so I can certainly give you advice on planning your trip if you'd like. It is a loooooonnnnng and at times disparaging journey, although if you have good company it can make all the difference. I would recommend heading out via the States and back through Canada (or vice versa) to change up the scenery and make sure you see everything at least once! Definitely do not want to rush as 12-15 hours days just can't be rushed. Maybe schedule some camping, swimming or short hikes along the way to get the blood flowing to the legs.
As to whether I'd be interested in joining, I'd certainly consider it but I may need the summer to think about it. Who knows what sort of horrible security procedures they'll have on airlines by the time fall rolls around!
