Some people live with the irrational belief that the US government would never do anything intentionally to harm their fellow citizens.  I've had conversations with people who dismiss the possibility of government complicity in 9/11 out of hand for this reason alone.

They needed the planes to cover their tracks and to create the enemy.  They didn't have to orchestrate that, it was a known plan and some chose to help them instead of thwarting them.

Self destructive people set traps for themselves.  Their worst fear is being responsible for adhering to reality, they evade it instead and evade responsibility.  They seek to evade the consequences as well.  They'll find anyone to blame but themselves which is also an evasion of reality.  They will attack others when anyone comes close to revealing what they don't wish to acknowledge.  Those individual thugs calling themselves "the state" won't acknowledge the reality that their actions are unjustified and certainly not needed.  They seek to evade the consequences of their actions and will set others up to take the blame whether with a lie or a manipulation of the facts, setting themselves up for another fall in the process.

I don't know how 9/11 was orchestrated, but I do know that it wasn't just a bunch of Muslims hijacking planes.

Yet all they do, their sole means of thriving is based on the harm and plunder of their own citizens. I wouldn't put anything past them nor underestimate their capacity for evil anymore than I would Hitler or Stalin.  It is beyond me why people think our state is so immune from corruption when the premise by which they act is based on the idea that theft, extortion, murder, enslavement, coercion and violence are ok for some people to use but not others.

I'm totally with you, Rod. But I think there are plenty of better (and much more obvious) reasons to believe the Government was responsible for 9/11, than whether the "squibs" were a cause or an effect of building collapse. That just gets us all mired in technical details very few of us are competent to analyze.

9/11 was in the cards as far back as the early 1950's, and it was anything BUT a secret. There's mountains evidence right out in the open, that shows that. A massively complex, delicately timed, and yet mind-bogglingly discrete feat of engineering wizardry was not at all necessary for starting a war with the middle east, because decades of foreign policy adventures before it, combined with an accutely hightened degree of political hubris today, already insured it would happen.

Can't we all just get along?  Stick out tongue

I get ya, Greg.  The point I was failing to make clear was that a lot of people are wasting their time talking about the dripping yellow metal and the mini-explosions, when the people they're talking to are programmed with the logical firewall of "the state does not harm me."  Before getting into the details, one must figure out a way to defeat that barrier to reason.

Of course, that firewall lies right behind the one which says "my family did not harm me."

    Bingo.

It just seems to me that trying to prove conclusively that 9/11 was a conspiracy, is like trying to prove conclusively that Jesus didn't exist. It kind of doesn't matter. What matters is the principle. That's what we should focus on.

I don't think the guys referenced by the above grip had anything to do with 9/11.

I'm not at all overly trusting of the state.  I'm just confused with the theory - did planes run into the towers at all?

The theory is that yes, the planes hit the towers, but that they did not cause the towers to fall.  That required explosives.  And Building 7 either fell in sympathy and anguish, or it was demolished.
