I would love to have advice and input from FDR people about this project I've started.

I have in my mind the idea of putting various FDR videos and podcasts on DVD's and leaving them in various places where I think people might find them and see what's on them.  I'd like to have as broad a base of information on each DVD as possible so that it will be more likely that anyone looking at it will find something that interests her.

Here is a list of the videos I plan to put on them so far:

George ought to help - not an FDR video.  But it's really good, short, to the point and easy to understand

I believe that this is a good sampling of videos.  I was also thinking about podcasts to put on there.  There will still be about 2 GB of space left on the DVD's with all the above loaded on them and I've noticed that they don't get heavier when I add more files to them

I like this idea and I think it could be a successful way to bring philosophy to the people. 

I would start with:

The money that is sold is you   ( You can get the interest of many people when you talk about money and they will like this one. )

The story of you enslavement  ( I think no rational person can say "No!" to this video )

George ought to help ( A very easy to understand vid about the  core of voluntaryism )

ok.  good idea.  Set it up so that they are inclined to see them in a certain order.  I like that.

Are there any audio podcasts that come to mind that you think are really good for putting on a DVD?

the goal should be to make people interested. I believe videos would do a better job than podcasts but that is only my opinion.

As I have written somewhere else on the board stef got me with the introduction to philosophy series witch could also be a useful content on the DVD.

Just wanted to relate my experience in doing something similar: Several years ago Stef was a speaker at a freedom conference (I think for the freestate project, although I'm not certain). As a part of that event I put onto DVD all of Stef's books in pdf and audio format, the 'first 20' podcasts, and his introduction to philosophy videos. I duplicated several hundred DVD's which were distributed to audience members and participants at the festival. To my knowledge, it did not result in an increase in members here (at least, no one has posted that the reason they joined was because of watching the DVD). If anyone reading this did in fact join because of the DVD please feel free to let me know of course.

Good to know.  That was a good target market you chose.  That you didn't get much response from it, gives me pause.

Maybe the best strategy for me is just to make a few copies to have ready to give to people that indicate they are receptive.

Thanks for the suggestion.  Between that and all the other stuff, that should fill up the DVD!
