    YouTube video debates

I posted specifically about Noam Chomsky, but would love to see Stefan debate anyone he chooses via Skype.  Sort of in the tradition of televised debates on PBS or whatever, such as the famous Chomsky/Buckley debates.

Any of the topics of FdR would be great to see as debates.  Of course, the most fun would be if you took one of the people who provided a thought out reply (should one exist) refuting your ideas, and debated them about the idea in greater detail.

It would also be fun if you simply browsed around for people who actually seem to have a talent for critical thinking, and opposing views, and challenged them to debate you.

As a final note on this idea, I'll add that it would be boring or worse, such as possibly insulting, if Stefan were to pick opponents who don't have the capacity to think critically, or cannot do so at a similar level as Stefan.

What makes the idea entertaining and worth viewing to me, is seeing well-matched intellectual opponents make rational arguements in a debate of ideas.  I don't need a clear and obvious objective winner...just two well thought out arguments with two or more sides from which to choose my own winner, based upon the merits of the evidence and arguments given.

    Re: YouTube video debates

Stefan has done a lot of debates.  Probably the most notable one was last year with Michael Badnarik at Drexel University.  But if you do a search for "debate" on his Youtube channel or his podcasts, you'll find many of them.

I agree that Chomsky would make for an epic debate, but I don't see it happening anytime soon.  Stef isn't exactly on the mainstream radar... yet...

Haha, yes, I noticed that right after posting, and then watched them.  Some are more interesting than others, and like I observed, the most interesting ones are the most evenly matched ones.  I enjoyed what I found, but Minarchy vs. Anarchy isn't nearly as interesting to me personally as other topics.....

In particular, I'd like to see Stef debate on topics like:

    • Children and Discipline
    • Education: What possible forms should education take?
    • Self-defense vs. pacifism
    • Debate with a doctor about medical ethics and self-ownership, and topics like circumcision and other forms of medical child abuse
    • DRO model vs Syndicalism model
