    It's me -:)))))

    Hi,

My name is Sabina and I am Polish now 55 years old -:))) but fortunately look some years younger !!!!-:)))) ))))))))

I lived for many years in Sweden and Italy. I Returned to Poland in 1994. I am a sworn translator of Italian.

    I am interesting in psychology.

When my son was about 4 years old, I lived in Sweden at that time, I visited a psychologist because I had problems with my son. I was convince that it was my son to have problems but the Swedish  psychologist explained me that it was me to be wrong with him because I did not understand him.

She said to me that my son, with his behaviour ,  tells me that he miss me very much especially fiscal contact.

I change immediately  and started to interesting me of  psychology to understand more better my son and myself. I read a lot of books in Swedish, Italian and Polish, different articles on internet, ecc.

All these knowledge I get from reading let me know my problems and I work hard on myself to be a mother who respect his son and to believe in myself.

In my origin family  as long as I remember I suffer a lot of solitude  and  emotional coldness so I became a very shy person - my self-esteem was very low.  I was deep depressed in my live and 2x I try  the suicide so I was recover at the hospital.

After the last suicide,   I think 17 years ago, I started a new live.  Worked even more harder to higher my selfe -esteem and I became successful in it ! -:))

Now  my self-esteem is so high that people who do not know me personally, only discussing with me online , think that I am a very  presumptuous person - I assure you I am not !

    Since, I think, 3 o 4 years ago I started a group online http://www.goldenline.pl/forum/koniec-milczenia

which I call STOP WITH SILENCE [Koniec milczenia] where I talk  about relations parents - children and how it influence our adult’s live.

I love Alice Miller http://www.alice-miller.com/index_en.php   work and tray to divulgate her knowledge  and others who tell about children and their suffering in the childhood. I like also an Italian psychologist and author of many interesting books  written on the base of her patiant’s histories - her name is Maria Rita Parsi - unfortunately never translated in other languages -:(((

So if my personal experiences and my knowledge can be of use for  someone I am at your disposal.

LOW SELF-ESTEEM CAUSE US ALL PROBLEMS  and self-esteem start to be build in our families, our parents must help us in it because if not we must do it by ourselves when we became adults. It’s not easy, take a lot of time but it’s possible and let us feel good.

    Welcome!

Your skill in translating Italian would be very helpful to translate the work of Maria Rita Parsi, since you say it's not available in other languages.

If her work is anything like Stef's or Alice Miller's, I would be interested in reading about her.

    Self-knowledge. Not self-erasure.

I do not remember now if it was David o Derek who told me about Freedomain radio. I learnt them on Facebook. I remember that Derek helped me to registrat here.

I listen to some podcasts and then talk with Derek and what I understand it seems that you started from politics and arrieve to childhood and I learnt from Alice Miller work and others like her the opposit - from childhood to politics  mayby this let you understand better what I mean http://www.alice-miller.com/flyers_en.php

Nice to meet you all !!!!  -:)))

Maria Rita Parsi is very know person in Italy and she write about emotional/fisical/sexual maltreatment of children, about violence which suffer men from women. Reading her books I realized that we women can be terrible, that it's not true that women are better then men, that we women are not agressive, that  we women  are not. at all always loving mothers, we can be more terrible for children then fathers ..... ecc.

It's not easy to find pubblisher in other countries.

     Hi Sabina,

    Welcome to the boards!

I agree with Hajnal that Maria Rita Parsi's writings sound like they would be interesting to me. Maybe just simply getting permission to do an english translation on a website  would be welcome. Or it may push her publisher to release her works to english speaking countries.

I also think that if you like learning from Alice Miller, you might be interested in Stef's readings of Lloyd DeMause's Origins Of War In Child Abuse from the Psychohistory website. Just a warning that there will be graphic descriptions of child abuse, and the effects on politics and war that it causes.

I look forward to reading your contributions to the conversations here.

I'm very happy you've joined us over here Sabina, thanks so much for your contributions. I think you and I first met through the Facebook group Child Abuse Awareness.

Welcome :) I'm sorry to hear about your great difficulties in the past, but I think it's fantastic that you've found this interest in psychology and have worked on yourself so hard - with great success, apparently! :D

I'm currently finishing a bachelor's degree in psychology, but I'm only just beginning to learn about clinical psychology and psychopathology, and about psychoanalytically oriented theories in particular.

    Hi -:))

yes, I can say that I succssed and since many years ago feel very good and must say that  my "old age" !!!-:))))))))))))))))))))))))))) is the moste happy period of my live -:)).

    Mozz:
I'm currently finishing a bachelor's degree in psychology, but I'm only just beginning to learn about clinical psychology and psychopathology, and about psychoanalytically oriented theories in particular.

on the Polish forum I asked people studing psychology if there are courses telling about violence in the so called "normal" familes (about emotional/fisical/sextiual abuse agains children) and I let know that only a little it's means the courses are not obligatory so if a student is not intressted in this he never study about this. It's obligatory only for these students who want work in the future with Court.

They were surprised of my question saying me that it has nothing to do with studing psychology.

So I wonder who should study about this ?

What about the country you live in regarding this problem  are you studing about this o will you obligatory ??
