    Rather enjoyed the video, thanks.

A friend of mine linked me to this site that aggregates some pro-global warming arguments: http://scienceblogs.com/illconsidered/2008/07/how_to_talk_to_a_sceptic.php

One pet-peeve: "It's all just state-funded nonsense." I know you clarified that you do not mean to imply that conclusions in state-funded research is inherently incorrect, but without this clarification it certainly sounds that way. Perhaps you can find a more precise way to express criticism for the joint inequities of funding research with violence and biases in Science due to funding.

The Bob Carter videos were very good. He makes a very compelling case.

this site, coyote blog, is a pretty good source forcritiques of man made global warming.

However i personal feel that even entering the discussion is useless, as it still seems that all sides must first accept some people have the "right" to tell others what to do and initiate force "for their own good".

    Excultist:

Ok, so I posted this video as a link on my Facebook and this conversation ensued:

    ...snipped for bevity....

When having a conversation about global climate change, it's important to first distinguish between natural global warming and anthropomorphic global warming (caused by man).  The vast majority of global warming is a result of the natural processes and it would be a mistake to attempt to control those (and probably futile no matter how much money you threw at it).

The effects of anthropomorphic global warming are fiercely debated and need to be looked at with caution.

Al Gore is a profiteer.  Even after carbon offsets have been proven to not work, he still makes money selling them.  He's selling snake oil and he knows it.

I posted this video on my facebook too and it was promptly shared by several people on the anti-global warming team.  The funny part is that none of them had watched the entire video and now their walls are exploding into 35 comment arguments with people saying things like "I really loved this video until the last 2 minutes where he starts talking anti-church and anti-government stuff!"  And then the people who shared the video saying stuff like "uh, does it really say that?"  and then being kind of forced to defend the comments made by Stef in the last two minutes with stuff like "Uh, I think when he said "higher power" he was talking about government controls and not church, I'm not really sure"...its all pretty hillarious to me. Big Smile

Regardless, I was first drawn to this site through a video that didnt discuss atheism/anarchy.  These videos without too much in the way of anti-statist/church comments will probably generate a lot of interest in freedomainradio.

Good video. Otherwise it's quite hard to have a balanced conversation about the topic, to say the least. I have been called both "skeptic" and "alarmist" in my days...

    Stefan,

Do you have a transcript for this one yet?

    Will there ever be?

I don't have time to do one, but I'd be happy to share the presentation if people are interested...

    Shouldn't it be "melting icegate?"

sorry for being nit-picky, but I think you mean "anthropogenic", not "anthropomorphic".
