    One of the things that Harry Browne used to say on his Internet show was that the United States has been in a continuous recession since the 1970s (following LBJ's Great Society).

    Much of the recent economic growth extolled by sycophants when "their guy" is in power is due to people buying things with credit cards and home equity.
