Yeah it IS annoying. It's not only annoying, it fucking pisses me off! BIG TIME! Especially, if one can show that the individual was banned in a manner that was inconsistent with the procedures that Greg G posted, which also seem to be consistent with what Stef has posted, for example, in the thread about trolls with respect to the Guardian article.
Greg's response was rather interesting. He said "it's as simple as that". Is it really as simple as that? I'd beg to differ since the facts in this case repudiate what he posted, seeing as how he also said the process was "you get *asked* to leave".
If only eye2i2 had been "asked" to leave!
For my two cents worth, that would have been the honorable (let alone the UPB) approach -- but he didn't get that request.
And for people who say that curiosity is a central necessity to philosophy, I'm sure he didn't even experience that in this case, either, not even as a benefit of the doubt, because I have a copy of Stef's email to him (which I'd be all too happy to post if Stef won't), which isn't curious at all. It doesn't mention any investigation on Stef's part and in fact, it says that someone else told him that eye2i2 was posting at LiMi. It doesn't even say anything to the effect of "someone else told me that you are posting *nasty things* about me". It does not mention any of eye2i2's posts at LiMi that contain any content which could be described as having a false, libelous, slanderous, or abusive context.
How nice it may have felt for him to have received an "I'm curious..." email asking why he was posting on both LiMi & FDR. But that's just honor by my measure and how subjective is that to start with? But that's actually a pretty damn good question.

What exactly is "Universally Preferrable Behavior" with respect to banning individuals on this forum in the face of posted procedures vs. individuals who have been banned in a manner which doesn't even come close to living up to those procedures?

I hope that someone, instead of making "I AM SPARTACUS" jokes about someone's screen name, can actually answer this question with some honesty and sincerity. Not for my sake, but for everyone else's because frankly, I think I'm done here. I've never even met eye2i2 and ultimaltey, I'm infuriated.
I've found FDR to be a great resource. I've donated a respectable amount of time, money and expertise and I think Stef would agree. I've appreciated the conversations and some of the friendships and connections I've made, but I am apalled by Stef's behavior in this case, when in my opinion, he has not lived up to his own standards.
